How to decorate a large blank wall in my house?
Neal Hauschild, owner of Nth Degree Companies, is happy to give you some interior design tips:
• One large scale piece.
This could include a large piece of art or a mirror. “You want the piece to take up space on the wall but not entirely fill the wall” say Hauschild. When looking for a large piece, make sure you know your style and color palette. If you need help in those areas, ask an interior designer for help. At Nth Degree, we have interior designers at both of our locations ready and available to answer your questions and help you in your design journey.
• Double Up.
Having two pieces next to each other is a great way to add visual interest. Neal says to “make sure the pieces coordinate, have matching frames and then align horizontally on the wall. This will allow the pieces to flow together even though they are separate”.
• Statement Wall
Wallpaper, murals or decorative finishes are another way to fill a large wall but make sure these are done with the help of an interior designer. Working with such a large scale space can be overwhelming when it comes to filling it entirely – an interior designer will be able to help you pick the best option and execute the project. Our interior designers at Nth Degree are available to help!
• Gallery Wall
Get creative with a gallery wall. Frames, mirrors, wall accessories – there is no right or wrong way for a gallery wall. A tip: “be aware of the space when you are executing your gallery wall, you want to take up space on the wall but not fill it entirely” says Hauschild.
